The Organized Artist

It worked like this. When my life was in order, I discovered I had many more inspired ideas. When my life was in chaos, I had hardly any.

When I was faithful to show up in a structured, disciplined way every day, I was rewarded with an abundance of creative “gifts” that I was then able to spend time producing. When I had no schedule, I never “got around” to creating.

The more I forced myself to sit down and produce, the more I was inspired to create, the more my confidence as an artist grew, and the more I believed I was capable of creating great art.

Living in fear stops us from living. It certainly stops us from living inspired. And it stops us from making a difference.

Have you ever said these words or some version?

"It's okay, I'll be fine, don't bother, I don't want you to go to any trouble..."

Chances are you did need them to go through some trouble, you needed help, you could have used a friend, and they probably stepped out in love to offer.  But you closed the door on love in an opportunity to share an experience and chose silence, loneliness and the Lone Ranger experience.  Why? Why do we all do that?

Because we don't want to be a bother. We don't want to be perceived as weak, unknowledgeable, stupid, lazy, taking advantage and the list goes on.  We choose fear.

Listening With Ears Wide Open

Remember Two ears/ One mouth: It should go without saying that we start here, but somehow it doesn't seem obvious. People get hung up on that "Life's Supposed to be Fair" rule. Listen close. That rule DOES NOT APPLY HERE. This is not a give and take. They get to talk twice as much as you do. That's the math equation. If you can get them to talk three times as much, with you just popping in a comment or a question now and then, you are already a pro.

The Right Things First

First things first.

In order for my life to work right, things have to be done in a certain order. Meditation and journaling first thing in the morning. I need the time of the day to get centered and focus on gratitude, love and daily priorities. Miss that one, and I have gotten out on the wrong side of the bed. Then it’s yoga time. After that, the home blessings, laundry, and meal plans. Once my spirit, body and home are settled, then I can turn on the Creative Juice.
